Formatting documents could be hellish.
It might depend on the version of the software you are using.
Print the docs to PDF.
Sometimes you just need the formatted doc already. Why not save as PDF to save you from all the trouble of having weirdly formatted text?
Version control is important.
You must always track the revisions you make so that you don't have to do everything all over again. You could simply go back to the previous steps.
Check your svn version.
I used esvn and Tortoise. First I was using esvn on Linux. Then I installed Tortoise. Apparently Tortoise and esvn have different versions of svn... *sigh*
